Down Hall Wedding
The sumptuous Down Hall Wedding in Hertfordshire was the setting for the wedding of Nicole and Mark. From experience, a Christmas wedding has a unique feel and the opportunity to be particularly special. Some may fear the risk of inclement weather, but the intangible delight of beautiful flat light and gorgeous sunsets mixed with a festive feeling gives the day its own priceless grandeur.
A photographer is only as good as their charges, and Nicole and Mark were incredibly accommodating on the day; nothing was too much trouble as they enabled me to record the event in the best way possible. They were patient and open to any idea, allowing me to get any shots I felt might really work. The task was made all that easier thanks to the breathtaking scenery of Down Hall – a venue like this makes shooting a wedding an exciting opportunity, thanks to the variety of fantastic locations, giving me the option of multiple areas to get the all-important couple shots.
The day went exactly to plan. Starting at Down Hall for the always fun bridal preparation, we quickly transitioned to shooting the groom and his usher pre-wedding, followed by capturing the guest arrivals as we began the short journey up the road for the church ceremony at the characterful Hatfield Heath United Reformed Church.
A brilliant day followed with the reception, speeches and meal, with the Down Hall staff as excellent as ever. A Down Hall wedding is a real treat for suppliers too, given how well we’re fed!
I really am delighted with the final wedding photo gallery we delivered to Nicole and Mark. They’re a lovely, sweet couple who really reaped the rewards of their undoubtedly endless hours of planning. I wish them both all the best in the future.
