BRIDAL PREPARATION TIPS
After shooting lots of weddings and seeing lots of Bridal Preparation rooms I’ve put together a few useful Bridal Preparation Tips for you think about.
THE NIGHT BEFORE
Don’t go mental, get an early night! Whether you sleep or not is a different story but you’ll need lots of energy to get through a wedding day. Give yourself the best chance and fill up on that beauty sleep!
Honestly, eat! One of my most important Bridal preparation tips! Today just isn’t the day to skip breakfast. You’ll most likely be plied with alcoholic refreshment throughout the morning and the glass will never go empty. I’ve seen lots of brides put 3 or 4 glasses of Prosecco away by 11am having eating nothing but a croissant. Most likely you’d never do that normally so don’t get caught out. Carb it out.
It’s very easy to overthink and worry. Try to relax and trust the people you’ve paid, we’re full-time wedding suppliers! Weddings can go by so quickly and leave you in a blur so make time for yourself and enjoy the wedding morning, it’s a great part of the day. Try to create some sort of music playlist for the morning with your bridesmaids and fill it with songs that mean something to you all.
Who doesn’t like getting gifts? Send each other a little note or card, perhaps add a little gift or a big one! Some of the most emotional moments of Bridal Preparation are when gifts are given and received. Yeah, it’ll probably make you cry but do it early enough and your makeup will be fine!
Let’s do this right. We want tears please! We like to make the reveal to bridesmaids, Dad or whoever is giving you away a special moment. Again, it’s normally a very emotional one for you all so I like to make sure I’m in the right position to capture it
TAKE A MOMENT
You’re stood there looking beautiful, your dress perfect, your flowers amazing. All your best friends stood around you. One last glance in the mirror and………God, this is really happening, it suddenly gets very real. Take a moment and calm yourself, trust me, nothing is happening until you get there. You may be nervous of the walk down the aisle, petrified that you’ll get your vows mixed up. Don’t worry, so has everyone else in this position. By the time you’re married you’ll wish you could do it all again.
Not booked a photographer for your big day yet? I’d love to hear from you….
